Gardes françaises and their grumpy general
Now, the wonderful Trident miniatures of the French Guards are finished. A brave and victorious elite regiment, as everybody knows after the battle of Fontenoy, and now ready for duty in our summer battle first weekend in July.
It´s a rarely seen range of Trident, but each figure is a masterpiece and also a challenge to paint - including the parts to glue. But it worths the effort.
I am thinking on doing the - identical uniforms - of the Swiss Guards, which had the inverse colors.
And here comes the grumpy Monsieur le général with his apanage. He even dismounted of his horse to lead the lame infanterists. Fortunately, he has someone who cares on his horse.
The figures are Trident (general, standard), Sash&Saber, Irregular Miniatures and Manske.

France Cavalry Berry
The French are preparing for our summer battle this year for a bad render-vous with the Prussians. Last battle they lost against Frederick and the hunger of vengeance is big. The regiment of the Duc de Berry has beautiful colors and is one of the Gentleman regiment of the King. I hope they will fight well...

Prussian "agents provocateurs"
Difficult to explain, but I adore this Trident miniatures with their expressive faces... I ordered this AWI Hessians and painted them as Prussians. The officer looks quite provocative, so I gave him an own little vignette and two privates as entourage. Easy to imagine how he provokes the enemy with, how to say,.. dirty words?
