Saxon Regiment Königin "Queen"

Saxony was on my workbench, concerning the armament of its troups, long time neglected - first France, then Prussia got new regiments and this summer the work went on with terraining and buildings.
This new regiment called "Königin" was dedicated to Maria Josepha, Kurfürstin von Sachsen and Queen of Poland. After her dead in 1757 the regiment changed the name in Prinz Joseph von Sachsen.

As my last Saxon regiment "Prinz Maximilian", also this regiment stands out because of its particular colour of lapels: the fashionable red-tone "cochenille", what was extremely expensive and ordered in France. Today it´s alike the crimson red.
It contains 36 figures from Manske Zinnfiguren - I decided to compose a certain range of different behaviours of the figures to be able to place them in line or in disorder for skirmishing.

I tried some pictures on the new gameboard.

the whole regiment placed in one rank.

  1. Hi,
a very nice painted regiment. I like the uniforms of the Saxons. The figures of Matthias look cool, too. The photos and the terrain are also very impressive.
