Finally, after more than one year, I could find the time to paint this fantastic sculpts by Steve Barber, which I commissioned at his studio. I painted them as the Garden du Corps du Roe with the yellow flags, so it's the third Compagnie. A fantastic experience having his own commissioned figures and to paint them then. The figures come with separate arms, so you can paint them easily and in short phases, which is quite comfortable, if you don't have the time to paint 5-6 hours without a break. I confess, that I invested the last day 6 hours to finish the paint job, base them and making the grass, pigments and dust .. It's a great joy to have them and I plan already a new commission at Steve..

They tuned out extremely well - good paint job! Obviously destined to be one of your favourite units seeing you commissioned them. I hope they do well in their first game. Cheers Greg
ReplyDeleteHi Greg, it is indeed a great pleasure to get the own, commissioned figures - ideal to complete the usual ranges of infantry. But especially in 40mm, there are not many possibilities for get cavalry - there are only few manufacturers and they offer quite a few. I will commission a new figure soon, I am sure! P
DeleteLovely figures and terrific painting by you. I really look forward to the battle report.
ReplyDeleteThank you! The next battle comes soon - in 1 week. I am not sure, if we play Russia - Prussia or France - Prussia. But I will post the pictures!
DeleteBeautiful figures and a great paint job - well done !
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! They are too sensitive to put them in a battle (small parts can break) - but we will see!
DeleteWonderful! Beautiful figures and painting. Great to see you posting
ReplyDeleteI am already ashamed that I did not paint a lot last year, but now, in summer - the season for wargaming in the garden - I enjoy that! Thank you!
DeleteExcellent looking figures!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Ray! I am happy that you didn't forgot me the long time I was absent..
DeleteGroßartig bemalte Figuren einer legendären Einheit. Super!
ReplyDeleteOh vielen Dank!
Vielleicht könnte man ja mal zusammen zocken.
DeleteBeautiful figures and excellent painting, love the detail. It will be interesting to see how these fellows perform on the war games table.

ReplyDeleteVery nice and lovely work :) I like your good ideas, thanks for the inspiration!
